Before we talk about what makes the DXRacer special, I want to tell you this first. You could be wondering: why would I spend more than $200 on a gaming chair? Let’s say, on a CHAIR?! Well, you’re not the only one thinking like that. I used to believe that spending that much on a chair was a waste of money. But once you have experienced an ergonomic, comfortable, and good quality chair, you will never want to go back.
This is because then you know how it supports you day in and out.
There’s a high chance that you’re sitting on a chair for hours and hours every single day. If you put it that way, a good gaming chair is a right investment to give you the support and prevent any pain throughout the day.

Material Matters – Which One Is For You?
How much you will like your gaming chair also depends on the material that it has. The material of your chair determines for a big part how your chair feels. Other things to consider are these questions:
Do you want your material to be easy to clean? Do you want it to resist your animal’s claws (from your lovely cat for example)? And how do you want your chair to look like? Do you want your chair to feel smooth? Do you want to prevent it from getting hot when you sweat like a pig?
These are all questions that matter when choosing the material that suits you best.
There are three types of material:
- Polyurethane (PU)
- Polyvinylchloride (PVC)
- Fabric
Polyurethane (PU)
PU is a durable material that’s a lookalike of real leather and it’s cheaper than leather. So when you like the look of leather, then this could be a plus! Also, PU behaves like real leather. It can wrinkle and stain, and with time small tears can start to appear just as with real leather chairs. But PU is softer and much lighter than real leather.
Since PU has more pores on its surface, it has a higher chance of absorbing unwanted particles or stains. However, PU is waterproof, easy to clean, and the material feels very smooth. When you’re wearing short sleeves and pants, PU could feel nicer on the skin compared to fabric. The downsides mainly lie in the fact that PU can make you sweat a bit more, but less than PVC leather does. This also depends on how much you sweat of course!

Fabric
In contrast to PU, fabric material is very breathable. This means that it can handle sweat a lot better than PU and it won’t get that hot during higher temperatures. And there’s also a chance you sweat during the winter months too, believe me. If you’re someone that sweats a lot on regular basis, you may mess up the fabric a little bit.
Comparing to PU and PVC leather, fabric chairs usually have a consistent look. The fabric is simply just fabric, and no matter how long you have it (or where you are) it will look the same.
Good to know is that a fabric chair feels less smooth on the skin than leather chairs too: it feels a bit rougher.
A fabric chair is less easy to clean than leatherette chairs. Liquids can soak in pretty quickly, and it's known that the bright colors of these chairs could stain. Luckily, there are special fabric cleaners out there that you can use to clean your chair.
The best benefit of fabric besides the breathability is that it keeps a moderate temperature in every situation. It is also more resistant to things like animal claws.
But be aware when you smoke or when you have smokers around because the smell can get trapped in the fabric.

Mesh Fabric
Mesh fabric is one of the most durable, strong, and flexible forms of fabric out there. It produces a web-like net to make it extremely breathable. This makes it an excellent choice for gaming chairs. It's made from connected strands which can be crafted from metal, fibers, or any flexible material.
They are supportive, comfortable, and you will stay cool in this chair since the air can circulate. Hence there are tons of different mesh chairs on the market.
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
PVC comes close to PU, but PVC is more durable than PU. And what makes it so? This is because it has a multi-layer structure, which means there are more layers underneath its coating. PU has fewer layers and as you've read, PU can wrinkle like natural leather. PVC can stand more extreme wear than PU chairs.
The downside of PVC is its breathability. You could probably already guess this since it uses more layers. There’s a foam layer underneath the surface coating which makes it harder to ‘breathe’.
PVC material does a good job of not absorbing unwanted particles or stains because it has fewer pores on its surface compared to PU leather.
For example, most upholstery manufacturers prefer PVC leather over PU leather simply because there’s a lower chance that it absorbs unwanted particles or stains.
You will find more of this material in footwear too. But when it comes to clothing, PU leather is being the preferred material since it feels smooth.

My Personal Preference
My personal preference goes towards a leatherette chair. This is because these feel very smooth to my skin, and I don’t sweat much so I barely experience a sweaty or hot chair.
But what if you have a chair where PVC is combined with fabric? Well, the chairs DXRacer has to offer contains both of these materials. So that’s also possible. Let’s get to it!
Which DXRacer Gaming Chair Suits You Best?

Each chair is developed with its own purpose. One can be meant for heavier or taller people whereas the other could provide you more adjustability.

DXRacer P Series
The newest DXRacer chair that came out this year (2021) is from the DXRacer P Series. What makes this model unique comparing to the others? DXRacer decided to release a new chair that would be an affordable option for you. Especially for people who just jumped into the world of gaming chairs, the P Series can help to bridge the gap. DXRacer P Series is based on the Racing Series, where I will talk about later.
DXRacer PC188 - P Series $259.00
When you're looking for a good-quality gaming chair that's affordable (comparing to the other DXRacer models), the chair from the P Series is a solid choice. It feels very comfortable and it has basic adjustments, such as armrests that are adjustable in height, and of course, a recline function to recline it in the position that supports your back best. Or to take a nap. The chair can recline from 90° up to 135° so you'll find the best angle.
It comes with a headrest, lumbar support, and the material is only PU which makes it feel very smooth on your skin. It’s recommended to use this chair up to a maximum weight of 200 lb (91 kg) and a maximum height of 6’3’’(190 cm).

DXRacer Formula Series
The Formula Series is the first series of DXRacer, and it’s the most sold gaming chair! Hence, it’s a very popular chair for the world of eSports, streams, and tournaments. The chairs from the formula series are a smaller category within the DXRacer chairs. The chair also has an affordable entry-level price, just like the DXRacer P Series. It is a fusion between comfort and style.
The fact that this chair is a smaller category, has to do with the maximum recommended height. The Formula chairs fit users up to 5’10’’ (178 cm). On the other hand, the maximum recommended weight is the same as the P Series. The chair handles a weight up to 200 lb (91 kg). So, if you’re not taller than 5’10’’ this chair is a very good choice.
You can recline the chair to 135° to find the best spot, and both lock the chair in a fixed position and unlock it to freely rock back and forth if you like.
DXRacer states that the Formula Series gives you a premium seating experience. It comes with a headrest and lumbar pillow. The armrests are adjustable in height and you have the option to recline the backrest.

There are 2 different Formula models I recommend to you. Read their specific differences below!
DXRacer FD01 - Formula Series $329.00
The DXRacer FD01 uses strong breathable mesh fabric. This means that body heat, air, and water vapor pass through the seat and backrest so you will stay fresh. Since this chair only uses fabric it has more focus on being breathable. But as I said, this could feel less smooth on the skin.
DXRacer FD101 - Formula Series $329.00
The DXRacer FD101 on the other hand uses both fabric and leather (PU). This means that it will feel more smooth, but it stays breathable too. What applies to all the DXRacer chairs is that all the materials they use are durable. So even with chairs made of only (premium) PU leather, DXRacer wanted them to be as breathable as possible.
DXRacer Racing Series
The DXRacer chairs from Racing Series are an upgrade from the Formula Series. The chair is more adjustable and larger, so when you're a taller person this chair is perfect. It also has a typical racing design. This means that the chair looks like a racing seat where the back is hugging you on the sides, meaning that it will keep you in place when you swing to the sides (as necessary with normal racing).
A great benefit of the Racing Series is that the armrests are not only adjustable in height, but you can also adjust them sideways. Taking a nap or finding a comfortable angle is also no problem, the chair can recline up to 135-degrees and the chair has a multifunction lock.
This makes the chair even more ergonomic than the Formula and P series. And when you opt for a more luxurious feel than the previous two chairs, you should look into the Racing series. This chair can handle more weight up to 220 lb (100 kg), and a height of 6’ 3’’ (190 cm). You will also get a headrest and lumbar pillow.

There are 3 Racing models available which I recommended, but these are all slightly different. Below you’ll find out what these differences are to make your best buying decision when you’re interested in the Racing Series.
DXRacer RAA106 – Racing Series $329.00
You should go for the DXRacer RAA106 when you prefer a cover of leather and fabric combined. This chair uses durable PVC leather with mesh fabric to get enhanced breathability.
The armrests are adjustable in 3 different ways: inward or outward, forward or backward, up or down. They are padded too meaning that they would feel nice on your skin. This model comes with a tension spring too, which gives you the option to rock back and forth too.

DXRacer RV131 – Racing Series $399.00
The DXRacer RV131 is a better choice for you when you prefer to only have a leatherette cover. This chair is made from premium PU leather which is extremely durable, breathable and it will feel smooth on your skin. The armrests are adjustable in 4 different ways: inward or outward, forward or backward, left or right, and up or down.
So what you can see is new is that you can move these armrests to the left and the right (comparing to the DXRacer RAA106). These armrests contain thicker padding than the DXRacer RAA106, so they’ll feel extra soft.

DXRacer RV001 – Racing Series $399.00
The RV001 offers you a leatherette cover too. It uses premium PU leather which is extremely durable and breathable. Also, the armrests are adjustable in 4 ways: inward or outward, forward or backward, left or right, and up or down.
So this chair has the exactly same adjustabilities and material compared to the DXRacer RV131. The only difference is the way it looks as you can see in the picture.

DXRacer King Series
The King Series gives you the feeling like you're sitting on a throne. Why is this? Because this chair is extremely comfortable and offers you enough options to adjust the chair to your posture. This chair is especially good for taller and heavier people. I don’t recommend using this chair when you’re shorter than 5’9’’ (180 cm), since it won’t give you the optimal support anymore.
DXRacer KS06 – King Series $499.00
This chair is one of the most expensive and heaviest chairs of DXRacer. It weighs 30kg which is quite a lot! When you plan to game or work on this chair for multiple hours every day, this chair will make it effortless. It won’t make you feel stiff and your back would thank you for it. You can also use the headrest or lumbar pillow to feel even more comfortable.
Maximum weight of 275 lb (124 kg) is recommended, and it suits heights till 6’ 3’’ (190 cm). Interesting to see is that this chair uses only leather as a material. This means that it will have a smoother feel, but there's a higher chance that the material gets hot or cold depending on the temperatures and how much you sweat.
The King chair also has 4D adjustable armrests, so you will get more support out of the armrests.

DXRacer Tank Series
Then we have the last one of the series: the DXRacer Tank Series. As you probably noticed before all the DXRacer chairs don’t recommend a height above 6’3’’ (190 cm), but the Tank is made for even taller people too. It is the tallest and largest chair of DXRacer and one of the tallest on the market! So when you’re taller than 6’3’’ (190 cm), this is the chair for you.
DXRacer TS29 – Tank Series $629.00
This beast of a chair that weighs 65 lb (30 kg) can handle a maximum weight of 425 lb (192 kg) and a height of 6’7’’ (200 cm), so when you’re too tall or heavy for the other mentioned series then the only option you have is to go for the Tank! (sadly, or not? ) The shoulder width is wider, the backseat height is higher, as are the armrests and seat heights.
Just for fun, let’s compare some details of the tank with a formula chair.

As you can see, the Tank beats any other DXRacer chair when it comes to how tall and heavy it is. A little more extra inches here and there is what you use when you’re tall!
Same as the King Series, this Tank Series model only uses leather. This also means it will feel smoother and could get a little stickier than fabric when you sweat a lot. It can also get influenced by temperatures more than fabric.
Of course, this biggest model of the DXRacer is also very adjustable with 4D armrests. The back can also recline up to 120°.

What Do These Models Have In Common?
It would be nice to have a little overview of what these chairs have in common, right? When it comes to adjustability, both the Formula and P Series only allow for height adjustment (1D) with the armrests. The Racing chairs have either 3D or 4D adjustable armrests, and the King and Tank have 4D adjustment which means the armrests can move sideways and inwards or outwards too.
All the chairs have a soft amount of firm in terms of density. However, the Racing, King, and Tank are just a bit nicer to sit on because they feel a bit thicker and luxurious. The King and the Tank chair are the heaviest chairs since they can handle heavier and taller people. What applies to all chairs, is that they are extremely durable and sturdy.
All these DXRacer chairs mentioned can recline up to 135°, apart from the tank which can recline up to 120°. The headrest and lumbar pillows are all about the same and there’s an incredible number of colors you can choose from with DXRacer, so there’s much likely one that suits your preferences.
Downsides Of The DXRacer Chairs
Unfortunately, it is not only sunshine and rainbows with the DXRacer chairs. There are some things where I think the DXRacer lacks, and I'm starting with the armrests. The comfortability of these could be something you care about. The armrests from the Formula Series and P-Series are less or non-padded, and the armrests of all DXRacer chairs could feel a bit wobbly or narrow. They won’t have high-end armrests if that’s what you’re looking for.
However, the armrests are sturdy at their base. I think they are mainly wobbly because of the up and down adjustment feature. It’s not something that I think will give you pain or discomfort when resting your arms or elbows on them for extended periods.
For me, this wouldn’t be a problem but I do prefer my chair to have 3D or 4D adjustable armrests because what happens when I have 1D adjustable armrests is that my forearm isn't supported well and could become tired. I've been using a chair with 1D adjustable armrests for years, it was no problem really, but it is worth an upgrade for me.
Is the DXRacer Worth It?
I’d say a DXRacer is worth it when you're looking to get a new chair. It is something you spend on hours, let’s say years of your life working on particular stuff or playing your favorite games. You can see it as a part of your gaming hobby that makes it better and more enjoyable! It helps with back pain and all sorts of other negative results, and it gives you a better posture.
Conclusion | Which DXRacer Is Right?
All these different models can be overwhelming, and that's why I will discuss in this last chapter which DXRacer is right for you.
P Series
When you’re looking for the most affordable DXRacer, you should have a look into the P-Series. These are the newest chairs of DXRacer, and I recommended the DXRacer PC188 chair to you which is meant for larger people up to 6’3’’ (190 cm).
The maximum weight it can have is 200lb (91 kg). The chair has basic adjustabilities where the armrests can only go up and down in height (1D adjustable armrests).
The DXRacer PC188 only uses PU leather for the cover, which makes it feel very smooth on your skin. So when you’re a bit taller and you’re looking for a comfortable chair with basic adjustability’s that’s affordable you should go for the DXRacer PC188 of the P-Series.
Formula Series
Do you have a smaller body type? A height that's shorter than 5’10’’ (178 cm)? Then it’s worth looking into the Formula series. The DXRacer Formula is the oldest and first DXRacer out there on the market.
Just like the P-Series, this chair has 1D adjustable armrests since these are only adjustable in height.
The maximum weight it can handle is 220 lb (100 kg). So, when you are a shorter person, the Formula Series is your best option since it supports you more. I have recommended 3 Formula chairs in this guide. One is made of only fabric, where the other two are made of both fabric and leather. It is up to you to decide which design you prefer and if you like a combination of leather & fabric or just fabric alone.
Racing Series
The DXRacer of the Racing Series is an upgrade of the Formula and P-Series. It has more adjustabilities since it either has 3D or 4D adjustable armrests.
This means you can move them inward or outward, forward or backward, up or down, and left or right too if these are 4D adjustable.
All the Racing models I’ve recommended (RV131, RV001, and KS06) use both fabric and leather. This means it will be both smooth on your skin and breathable for you. But remember that DXRacer only uses premium materials, meaning that they try to make their PU leather chairs breathable too.
The Racing Series is recommended for a maximum height of 6’3’’ (190 cm) and a maximum weight of 220 lb (100 kg).
King Series
DXRacer came with a fancy name for this chair. They want you to feel like a king or queen in this ‘throne’ (but you can have that feeling with their other chairs as well).
Be aware that when you’re shorter than 5’9’’ (180 cm) it’s not recommended to go for this chair, since it would be too big for your body type. This chair also has quite some adjustabilities since the chair has 4D adjustable armrests.
The leather material of this King Chair feels a bit nicer to sit on since the density of the foam is thicker. The DXRacer KS06 of the King Series which I recommended to you can have a maximum height of 6’3’’ (190 cm), and a maximum weight of 275 lb (124 kg).
Tank Series
If you’re very tall then there’s no other way than choosing the Tank Series. This chair supports a height of 6’7’’ (200 cm). So when you’re taller than 6’3’’ (190 cm), the DXRacer TS29 of the Tank Series is your best choice!
This chair also has 4D adjustable armrests, and it uses only premium PU leather which makes it feel smooth on your skin.
The Tank Series of DXRacer has the biggest and largest DXRacer chairs, but even the biggest and largest gaming chairs of the market. So when you'd like to get yourself an extremely comfortable chair, that suits your height perfectly and will last for years then you will do yourself (and your back) a huge favor with the DXRacer TS29.
